Damariscotta River

Damariscotta River

from $133.00
[ABOUT THE REGION]: The Damariscotta River has been an important estuary for those living in the region we now call Maine for thousands of years. Its tidal waters host a yearly alewife migration, account for over two-thirds of Maine’s annual oyster landings, and are responsible for creating a unique "reversing falls." [ABOUT THE PRINTS]: We recommend full 30" x 40" prints on metal ($390) for the best viewing, though we do offer one smaller size, also on metal. A Giclee print on high quality paper is the most economical option, but metal or acrylic will undoubtedly prove most luminous and spectacular. Full-size prints are 1:45,000 (1" = 0.71 miles). [ABOUT THE PROCESS]: We selected the National Agriculture Imagery Program's 2015 mid-summer aerials of the coast of Maine to create this composite shot. 33 tiles were mosaicked, color-corrected, and patched to create a single, seamless image.
