[ABOUT THE REGION]: Midcoast Maine is broadly defined by its tidal rivers, coastal towns, glaciated topography, and a brilliant mixed forest—on display in this fall image. Also notable at this time of year are blueberry barrens in bright red, fieldgrass still holding green, and a fading taupe in the marshes. [ABOUT THE PRINTS]: We recommend full 30" x 30" prints on metal ($325) for the best viewing, though we do offer one smaller size, also on metal. A Giclee print on high quality paper is the most economical option, but metal or acrylic will undoubtedly prove most luminous and spectacular. Full-size prints are 1:126,720 (1" = 2 miles). [ABOUT THE PROCESS]: These images were taken on October 21, 2022 by Sentinel 2, a 1.3 ton European satellite in orbit approximately 488 miles above the surface of the earth. Although we cleaned the seams of the mosaic and adjusted the brightness, we’ve otherwise left the hue of the fall colors untouched.
